I would say that the top SEC chapters emphasize a broad mix of grades, involvement, looks, sisterhood, social calendar, and tradition. At Bama, the top three are the best in their area of strength. The top "hot" house also has a stellar GPA, solid involvement, and a clean, scandal-free social rep. The top house for grades and involvement still has quite a members who are really pretty in a classic, understated way. And the top party house, despite a longstanding wild-child rep, still has a GPA of just under 3.5, along with a reputation as the nicest and most down to earth of the "rich" houses, as well as the one that's most open to OOS/OOR girls. On the other hand, just looks or just grades and involvement aren't enough by themselves. The houses that rush just for looks have the worst grades and tons of rep risks, and they tend to have retention issues because the sisterhood is weak. A few of the bottom/lower-mid houses have an average GPA above 3.5, but they don't have as many pretty, confident, socially outgoing members as the top and middle houses.
