Keep in mind, I am not bashing ANY chapter. I believe all chapters are great and unique in their own way. I am just here to tell my story and give girls a perspective. Going through recruitment, I got super caught up in the stereotypical "tier system" and told myself I had to be top tier. I had best friends in one of the top houses and was positive I was getting a bid from them. Well, I ended up getting dropped the round before pref and only had an unhoused chapter left. I was 100% shocked and dropped out of rush. A few days later, I got a call from a "lower tier" house to come over for informal. I was so conflicted and couldn't see myself in that house just because of the reputation and social status that people told me about. However, I went to COB and ended up getting a bid. For some reason, I felt like I needed to take it and give it a chance. Well now here I am, two weeks later and I absolutely love it. I can't believe people talk down about lower tiers now. This completely opened up my eyes to when people say "keep an open mind". I have found a group of really cool girls that are super fun and outgoing that I love. So my advice to anyone rushing next year, really do go in with an open mind. I promise you that you can find atleast a handful of girls you like in ANY chapter no matter what tier they are in.
