Appeals do help, but in all honesty it will depend on the house. There are some houses (for instance the one I was in) that do consider the appeal, but even after listening to that appeal it went strictly on who talked to that PNM and how highly she was rated. If she was loved by the chapter, she has a better chance of staying within their process. I can't post the link here, but if you Google "Indiana University GPA Sororities" and click on the first link: It takes you to the student affairs website. The title is "Academics: Fraternity and Sorority Life: Student Life and Learning." - You can click on the different academic semesters that have pdfs that show the average house GPA's. I'm not saying you shouldn't try at some of these houses with the higher GPA's, but you should keep that in mind if you get cut from those houses.
