I would say the closer it gets to rush you should probably not go out. You are definitely not able to go out once rush has started. If you do go out please handle yourself In a respectful manner because you'll be surprised to see that girls may remember seeing you out. I mean there's no way to directly tell if you're a freshmen but most times unless the party is open a sorority and fraternity are paired and won't open until midnight so trying to get in before then may make a few people mad.
