It won't necessarily be, it all depends on the recruiting strength of the chapters you had. The program tries to place PNMs with their highest choices, but that's only possible when all those sororities have relatively the same number of PNMs ranking them high. Let's say you had three sororities that had quota of 55, met their quota quickly and almost all the PNMs rank them as their top choice. The system will place you by taking into account your rank while balancing the total number of quota additions each chapter is needing to take. Now the "not your first choice" can happen when one or two of the chapters are like those above, strong chapters with 55 quota who almost everyone ranks high. Then the other chapter is one that ends up as a lot of PNMs third choice and perhaps also has a higher quota. So they had a relatively harder time getting to quota (mathematically they had to invite more PNMs to their preference to get to quota), so you likely will end up in that house if you have to be a quota addition. This all happens simultaneously in the system. The software looks at a lot of scenarios. The only thing you need to know is that if you rank all chapters you pref, you will get a bid. It just may be your second or third choice.
