Yes, if you drop out after sisterhood and don't go to pref you could go through informal IF THERE IS INFORMAL (99.9% most likely there will not be other than DPhiE). If the sorority cut you during recruitment, OF COURSE IT WILL MATTER. If they cut you, they probably had their reasons and they are not going to forget that. It is a dumb idea to quit recruitment in the vague hope that you're going to get into a sorority that cut you through informal. It's not going to happen.
