Be aware that fraternities offered more bids than they have available space for new initiates. This means when they offer bids they already intend to drop pledges before they initiate. Pledges get dropped for a variety of reasons. Sometimes pledges don't meet certain standards. However, sometimes everyone meets those standards and they just need to shrink the size of the pledge class. And sometimes the Exec Board wants to demonstrate that the pledge class is powerless so they drop people to make an examples of them.
