2.continued) This $600 more was no thanks to greek life. For example, Kappa Kappa Gamma has won Highest fundraising greek organization at knightthon for the past 3 or 4 years yet this year they raised hundreds of dollars less than last year and only had a couple girls stay the full duration of the event. People sign up for this event and dont even attend or attemot to raise money for these children. EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS. These children and families DO NOT have the means to help themselves and are Screaming for help yet we dismiss them and stay worried about our own wants for fun and games. Greek life cant event make an effort to spend 12 hours with these poor children going through harder things than most of the members of greek life have ever gone through. 3.) Participation in events because of rank not by cause. This is going to be my last example because frankly I don't have the time to be writing this, but i feel as thought someone had to say something. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. I have noticed through being a part of my sorority that organizations do not decide what to be a part of because they really want to support the cause. Instead, they chose to participate in these events because they like/dislike the fraternity or sorority. Not only that but when a Fraternity/Sorority they do not even make an effort to inform ALL organizations of their event. Doesn't every Penny count? So, why are we picking and choosing who gets to participate in an event raising money for a philanthropy. A lot of the times it is because ONE person had a disagreement with ONE other person in the chapter and thats crazy because ONE PERSON DOES NOT DEFINE AN ENTIRE CHAPTER, Much less should this get to control who gets to raise money for what organization. I know i can not be the only person who feels this way. someone had to say it. IF YOU ARE READING THIS IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. The only problem is that change can not be done by one person when this is a community of hundreds of people. My Question is where did the love go? why is there so much hate spreading around our community? I hope that this sheds light on the situation and I do see a change in the next couple of years. Why do we base our community off looks and not the heart behind the face or body? I beg you all to take a step back and reflect on your intentions, and maybe fix them if they're not in the right place. Thats all for now, stop name dropping too, cyberbullying is illegal. There are consequences to your actions even if you don't see them. Words hurt. Hurt people LOVE to hurt people and i'm sure this is why the hate has been able to become so widespread. find a life. MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OTHERS. Don't make them feel like they're worthless. EVERYONE has something to give.
