You must not be in greek life to understand that you just don't bring a sorority onto campus like that, it doesn't work like fraternities do. Last year Panhellenic Council, including all 12 chapters, took a vote to let other sororities put a bid on colonizing at our school. The vote lost 10-2, meaning 10 chapters didn't want another sorority being colonized. For a sorority to come to campus the Panhellenic Council must open to bids from sororities, meaning all the sororities we don't have at UCF are notified that we are looking to colonize. A few sororities that are interested in having a chapter at UCF get back to OFSL, and then they have a powerpoint presentation to convince OFSL why they're sorority will be a good fit on our campus. Ultimately OFSL has the final say in which sorority can colonize. Then Representatives from the sororities' Nationals come to campus and open up after a formal recruitment to girls who are interested in joining, and they need about 150 girls (average # of girls in each chapter at UCF) to join for the colonization to be successful. A student is never involved in bringing a new chapter into the Council.
