totalsororitymove.com/mailbag-i-got-cut-by-the-top-tier-so-i-dropped-out-of-recruitment-now-what/ This is a really great read. The cuts right before pref are going to be heavy. You could possibly end up with neither of the two houses you want to pref. Don't drop out. If you somehow end up with a bottom house or 2 bottom houses, give it a shot. I'm not trying to convince you to pick a bottom tier house over a middle or top tier. OF COURSE it's normal to want to be part of the group with the prettiest, coolest girls. But if you're somehow left with a house you feel lukewarm about or even despised during rush, just give it a shot. It's so much better to be bottom tier than not Greek at all. I rushed as a freshman thinking I would get top or middle tier. I was cut by all my favorites so I dropped out of recruitment. I re rushed soph year and joined a bottom house, one that I hated the year before. I love it now and I wish I had joined my freshman year so I could have spent that extra year with my sisters. Also, at pref, look around at the other PNMs in the party. Those could be your pledge sisters and they may be feeling the exact same way you do.
