This definitely doesn't apply to all sororities. In mine, it is REALLY rare when big/littles aren't friends. To the OP, you can't expect to be paired up with a big and be automatically bffs. It doesn't work like that ever in life. But most of the time bigs and littles end up friends or with some sort of meaningful relationship. I think it also depends on the house. Some houses will pair you up pretty randomly, others will take time to match each pair as carefully as possible. This is definitely something to ask about during rush at each house if it is something that is important to you!
