Grades are important. Sororities want to be able to maintain a good gpa. When there are over a thousand girls going through rush that are almost ALL pretty, social, and want sisterhood, the easiest way to make cuts is by grades. You have a semester before you rush. Get good grades so this won't be an issue. As for why lower tier houses take more grade risks than others, it's because they don't have as many options with PNMs as the more desirable houses have. Also, I'd beg to differ that looks are more important than grades. And I'm in a house that people think values looks more than anything. It's not true. We want smart girls who care about school. You're here to get an education first and foremost. Everything else (joining a sorority) is just secondary.
