You are right to some degree - it does take a lot to dramatically change the ranks, however, they have shifted through the years and some have moved up high. My aunt was here in the early 80's. Back then the top houses were Pi Phi, Gamma Phi, and DG, Kappa was just beneath those three. Alpha Phi was a very middle-tier house. Chi O was middle tier. Tri-Delt was bottom. Theta was "upper middle tier". ADPi was middle tier. Sigma Kappa was very new, so they were near bottom. Not sure what Alpha Phi did to move up to the top, but it can be done and I'm rooting for Tri-Delt for keep improving their classes to become a solid house. But historically, Pi Phi, DG, Gamma Phi and Kappa have always had very strong chapters. Theta did too for a long time.
