I think everyone is too harsh on DG and ADPi. What has happened to them is that the UT student population has changed. We get way more girls who studied really hard in high school than we used to at the expense of the typical sorority girl type. We do not have enough of the very social type girls get into UT and rush to fill all of the chapters. Honestly only about half of the chapters are that way anymore and we are still calling those the top chapters. And they are- if that is the type girl you want to run with. (As an aside that is the fraternity issue also-only more extreme! Only Fiji, SAE, ZBT, and Sig Ep have typical /social fraternity guys. Rest have much more awkward guys and lower ones often try to compensate by being super wild actually..) The girls (and guys) in the other chapters reflect our changing population. They are usually nice and probably make great friends/sisters. They were just not as social in high school-they weren’t really the nerds but definitely ran more with the nerdy crowd than the “popular” crowd- and are a different type of girl. That does not make them “worse” just not what everyone thinks of when they think sorority girls. Honestly though.....Go where you feel comfortable!-that’s where you will end up the happiest.
