When you register for rush, there is a section where you will put what group(s) you are a legacy to. Because of this, sororities will be more aware of you first round, and being a legacy will probably get you invited back to the second round of parties. It in NO WAY guarantees you a bid to any group so do not be overconfident and brag about being a legacy. Also, do not tell other groups you are a legacy to ABC -- it's a real turnoff and they may write you off and cut you just because. Pretty much every sorority has a policy that if you make it to preference you get a bid. The hard part is getting to preference. Also, some sororities will have lots of legacies coming through rush and cannot possibly keep them all. It's cool to have a legacy house and be interested in it for that reason, but you really should concentrate on going where YOU fit in and feel comfortable. YOU are the one who will be spending the next 4 years with these girls.
