Ok first of all - no. This would be absolutely ridiculous. Greek life organizations are private and the school cannot force them to take anyone. At the end of the recruitment process, the school actually does use a program with an algorithm that places “leftover” girls in houses as long as they maximized their options until the very end. That’s how quota is set. That being said, your friend probably got cut for a reason. You have no idea what she did or how she acted during recruitment. Sometimes girls fall through the cracks, and that’s unfortunate, but the program and the houses do their best to avoid that. Take this opportunity to introduce your friend to some girls in the house you got a bid from and invite her to certain things if you can. You don’t have to abandon her, but if you’re worried about her making friends and feeling included, do what you can to remedy that.
