if a sorority can't see you fitting in in their house, they're going to drop you. it doesn't matter if you're pretty or nice or involved - if you're not a good fit for the sorority, you won't get a bid. that's just how it works. in terms of how sororities judge whether someone fits in, that's up to each individual house. alpha phi and tridelt judge 99% by looks (not saying that if you're super hot you automatically get a bid, but thats just their primary concern). kd is slightly better - they also take grades into account. theta is probably the least superficial (which is still not saying much since they definitely still weigh appearance over anything else) because they also consider grades and personalities pretty heavily. in terms of other sororities, i'm not entirely sure how they judge, but i'm sure its along the same lines. but regardless, no matter how nice or pretty you are, if you're awkward during recruitment or if you're just different from the girls in the sorority, they are going to drop you. it's nothing personal, there are always plenty of girls who get completely overlooked during recruitment freshman year and then wind up joining a great sorority sophomore year. the point is: sororities can only take so many girls. they are going to pick the girls they think fit in the best. if you don't fit in, it's not because something is "wrong with you". it just means you're not right for that house.
