Rush is almost here. A lot of you are probably freaking out right now about the process. Some of you have no clue about what you are getting into. Here is some "real talk" advice for you. 1. Get off this site. Or if you feel you must read the junk on here, please understand that most of it is junk. There are petty girls in some sororities, GDIs and bored frat guys that post a lot of nonsense and BS rankings on here to mess with the minds of the new babies. 2. Keep an open mind about ALL the chapters. Don't worry about their colors or symbols or which house is nicest (you only go there for meetings). Worry about which girls you truly think you fit in with. These are the girls you will be hanging with forever. Rank chapters wisely. 3. While you are ranking chapters each day, you actually do not have all the power. The chapters do. So don't have a meltdown when you get your party list and your fave is not on it, or your bottom choice still is. Your picks are secondary to the chapter's choices. Go to every party on your list with a smile and open mind. There WILL be girls who get cut from all and would be grateful for any chapter. 4. If you get a bid to a chapter that you think is less than you deserve, I suggest you suck it up and give it a try. Make a real effort during your PNM period. Get involved and make friends. If you still absolutely hate it, you can drop before initiation. But chances are you will end up satisfied and happy. Good luck!
