I think the genuineness depends on which greek life organization you join and how you put urself out there within the organization. Some are closer or more fake then others and I've seen many genuine friendships within greek life. However, I do agree about greek life at ubc being disappointing. There aren't many events and its not too lively. Asides from special periods like start of sem or ICF, greek life is pretty dead and even when there's parties going on its semi empty.
