Purdue Greek life is being micromanaged into oblivion. IFC rules are getting out of hand—no drinking outside, no hard alcohol, guest lists tighter than Fort Knox, and the bar process is basically a full-time job. These rules aren’t making things safer. They’re just pushing people to pregame harder with more dangerous stuff. It’s backwards logic. Greek life isn’t perfect, but when done right, it gives students a legit support system, a social life, and a way to actually enjoy college. But Purdue’s acting like fun is a threat to their brand. Cutler clearly doesn’t care. Mung seems to hate Greek life altogether. One slip-up? Your chapter’s iced for a year, maybe more. At the end of the day, we just want to build friendships, rep our letters, and not have to host a UN summit just to throw a function. If something doesn’t change, Fraternities and Sororities need to band together to change it themselves. If you’re running for an exec position STOP PLAYING BY THE RULES.
