When they talk to girls they will be appealing to those that are looking for the opportunity to start something new on campus. Generally, some women who feel that the new group will be a better fit for them or give them the experience they are looking for will drop out of formal recruitment to go through the process with the new group. Also, there are a lot of girls that come to campus and wish they had registered for recruitment but didn't...so they aren't "leftovers".
