I think the whole point of this post is that if you are going into recruitment just trying to get into a top house then you probably will end up with fake friendships and possibly a bad experience. The whole point of recruitment is to find your place and your people. If the only thing you care about is being in a top house you probably aren’t looking for a house that truly is a good fit for you. I agree though this whole board has turned into mean girls and petty bullying over the last year.
