You can still go through formal recruitment as a sophomore. Lots of girls do that. COB is a more relaxed process than formal recruitment but if you only have certain houses in mind it can be harder. Lots of houses have limited spaces available in the spring. They only have spaces available if seniors graduate at the end of fall or if someone drops the sorority. This is why it’s heartbreaking when so many girls drop out of formal recruitment. If they would stay chapters would be able to have bigger new members classes and house total would be bigger.
