I remember my bid day not because of how happy I felt, but because I was heart-broken. I was just so sure that I would get the chapter I preferred. You feel really crappy today. That is perfectly understandable. Good for you that you bucked up and tried to smile through it. I remember when the events of my bid day were over, I went and found another friend on campus from my high school that I trusted and we went for a long, long drive to get away from it and just talk about it and let out some tears. Your journey may be starting a bit rocky, but stick with it. Don't expect it to be perfection right away. But, put in the effort. Attend your meetings, participate in activities, and be open to making friends with your pc. You will start to make some important connections and things will grow from that. I had a couple girls in my PC that really made all the difference. Over time (and it took a while), my feeling for the organization grew. As I got older, I was able to be a leader and change some of the things that I didn't like as much. You can do that too. You will grow from this and you will get a LOT out of it. Hang in there. In the end, if you put in the work, you will find that your membership will be perhaps more meaningful than those where it was handed to them on a silver platter. Good luck!
