Continued: Also, be honest with yourself and whether or not your can afford it. At least for the sorority I was a part of, each semester was a couple thousand. It's not cheap at all. Time. I think being in a sorority is really good for those who have a lot of time to be really involved in their chapter- especially when you're paying so much for it. I was already part of other organizations when I joined so I constantly felt torn between my sorority and other groups I was a part of. So I was either stressed because I was going to everything or felt left out if I missed things to do stuff outside of my sorority. Cliques. Every house has them and it's not fun when you're on the outside of a clique in your house. I could go on forever but, eventually, I just realized that my heart wasn't in it and now I feel like I have the freedom to do whatever I want because I have so much more free time now. And honestly if you're afraid you won't make friends if you're not greek, that's so far from the truth. I still go out and have a really awesome group of friends. So, yes, being in a house for a year was an experience but, it was okay that it wasn't the right fit for me.
