Talking to a couple of alumni in my house I can give you a brief understanding: Frats - Sigma Chi and Lambdas and Fijis were the three ones I heard were the strongest, Betas came out of no where around when they first got their house remodeled because of strong alumni support and not too sure about tekes. Sororities - As far as I've heard, all the 17th houses were pretty popular but I heard Kappas and Tri-Delts were big sororities back then. Apparently Kappas were "the sorority" back in the day.
