Congrats on your bid! I can't speak for other chapters but my own does not haze and I have never heard any verifiable reports of any USF sorority hazing its new members. If you are hazed, do not hesitate to report it to CSI and the national org! Other than that, my advice is: - don't be afraid to hang out at the house even when you aren't formally invited. It's your house now too and visiting between classes or in the evenings is the best way to meet sisters (I also recommend moving in if your chapter allows NMs to live in the house and has open beds because thats an even better way to get involved) - this one kind of builds on the last one but: you have less time than you think to find your big, make an effort and go to events early on and meet older sisters. You'll make super close bonds with the girls in your PC, but your first 2-4 weeks are your window for Big hunting! - your New Member Educator is there to support you, don't hesitate to ask her questions about your process and go to her for advice! - this goes beyond your new member period and into all of your sorority experience and into life: you get out what you put in. Your chapter (no matter which one, because there are amazing women and amazing opportunities in all of them) can benefit you so much - read your sorority's wikipedia page, it'll give a lot of background information and will make learning the chapter history, symbols, etc. much easier - if your chapter's ritual is online (because unfortunately some of them are) don't go seek it out. It's theirs to share with you when the time is right (and if you choose to ignore that, don't spread it around your PC. Some of your PC sisters may not want any spoilers!) Above all: have fun, don't break too many rues, get to know your alums, run for positions, and when the time is right, pay attention to ritual! PHA Love
