Well, some girls are interested in not just 1 or 2 sororities, but would actually be thrilled to join up to 12 of the sororities at UVA and then those 12 sororities reject them….so, don’t act like all girls that drop are being entitled. Some are very open minded and just found it hard to have a good conversation with the remaining 3 sororities that they are invited back to. Many of these PNMs are beautiful inside and out and thoroughly engaged in great conversations with girls in a majority of the houses but then probably just didn’t have the right connections and got dropped. I am not saying all sororities dirty rush, but it does help to have a connection who will stand up for you during PNM voting in order to be invited to join about 12-13 of these sororities at UVA. It’s super sad for the girls rushing because they may be super social and want to meet new people and it’s the very fact that they don’t know enough people that’s causing them to be dropped. It would be nice if the ISC could find a way to address this. And don’t say that these girls should just give the last 2-3 sororities they have left “a chance” and that they are being “entitled” — these PNMs have returned to those houses several times by pref night and still couldn’t connect with the girls. All the while, the other 12-13 sororities have full “justification” to drop us after one five minute conversation? Why don’t the sororities like Theta try the “just give girls a chance” approach and give the girls they cut first round a shot at membership. You all are super hypocritical.
