I am a 1974 graduate of UVA and member of Phi society. when I graduated our house was Phi Delta Theta but national decided to require a pledge by all chapters to a no alcohol policy in 2000. Most by Phi Delt chapters signed the pledge but then continued to use alcohol anyway.I am proud to say that the brothers of our house refused to sign a pledge they could not follow. Accordingly national stripped them of their charter and the Phi Society was born. Nearly all alumni prior to 2000 support the Phi Society and not the newly established by Phi Delta Theta chapter at UVA. If this website doesn't want to rank the Phi Society it is only because they are in a class by themselves. Having regularly visited the house over the last three decades I note that most of the girls have a high regard for the Phi Society. Does anything else really matter?
