I am well aware of the differences between schools which is why I said they TEND to have stronger nationals. I realize there are no absolutes. I'm from the northeast and maybe we view sororities differently there. Virginia is as far south as I ever plan to live. Other girls might want a social club for 4 years and that's ok. That's just not me. But I don't think I should be shamed for asking about what I can do to increase my chances for getting into a top tier. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen.
