Sororities nationwide are increasing in popularity primarily because of the networks and contacts they provide after college. Sororities are an investment in time and money, not just for 4 years but for a lifetime. Top tiers are usually top tiers nationally. This girl was smart to develop contacts her first semester, her membership in a top tier will pay off for years. If all you want is a social club then national reputation and tiers don't matter.
