Lol nice Sigma Nu. The subtle "slip the one that doesn't quite belong in there". To answer the original question you tend to be put in more social settings where you have an opportunity to meet the people within your own tier the most. You'll meet a lot of people in class, clubs, or through other friends a lot though and you'll quickly find that regardless of which houses you joined, you aren't actually that different. This tends to happen more toward the end or after freshman year though when people get more mature and stop caring about rank. So yes, as someone in a mid tier house you will have friends in and be invited to parties at top tier houses but whether your house actually exchanges with them is more of a case by case thing.
