PNMs, please read @bumping to clarify comment and then read it again. If you understand what you are going to experience it will take much of the emotion away and allow you to think through choices clearly and make decisions in a way that are in your best interest. You are in charge of your recruitment experience. Decide if your priority to be part of the greek system here or maybe not? Try to think about these things in the early days of the week as once exhaustion sets in and stress escalates, making a thoughtful decision becomes more challenging. If you decide to drop or leave and feel comfortable with that choice that is totally fine. But if you drop do it for a good reason. But I wanted to share my roommates experience from last year (not an unusual story at all but still helpful to hear again). My roommate dropped after day 1 because she wasn't asked back to the only house she was interested in and where her mother had also been a member years before. During the year my roommate met people from the house I joined, friends of mine from other houses and got to be good friends with some of the people on our hall that joined houses that she had dismissed. On the last day of school my roommate told me that she really had shot herself in the foot as all the people on our floor that were in houses that were now her friends were all people she could see as housemates and sisters. She is now sitting in a dark dorm room going thru recruitment again and I'm in my house.
