The fact of huge new members classes during Fall 2016 had do do with the number of registered pnms who stuck with the formal recruitment process, then maximized their options and accepted their bids. ANY campus can have an unusually large number of new members if there is interest shown by pnms. However, that interest does not always sustain into future years. Our campus formal recruitment numbers are available on another website and are as follows: Fall 2007 quota 30. Fall 2008 quota 35, chapter total 110. Fall 2009 quota 28, chapter total 110. Fall 2010 quota 39, chapter total 127. Fall 2011 quota 34, chapter total 127. Zeta Tau Alpha sorority recolonizes Fall 2012! Fall 2012 quota 35, chapter total 127. Fall 2013 quota 41+4, chapter total 134. Fall 2014 quota 35, chapter total 135. Fall 2015 quota 33+6, chapter total 135. Alpha Omicron Pi sorority unable to recruit, Fall 2016. Fall 2016 quota 54, chapter total 135. Fall 2016 quota was not too affected by AOII's dropping from recruitment. With those same Fall 2016 average bid numbers, quota may have gone as low as 50 had AOII been available. Again, in Fall 2017 and subsequent years Cal may not have as many pnms who sign-up, maximize their options and accept bids. Time alone will tell. NPC and Cal panhel have their eyes on our numbers situation and will act accordingly and properly regarding extension in the future.
