Absolutely would choose this school, in 100 different lifetimes. I'm a sophomore guy who rushed fall of sophomore year, FWIW. I think the best part of this campus you won't find elsewhere is that the vibe is just unmatched. It's so easy to make friends here, explore the city, try new things, and at the same time you're getting a solid education. It's rigorous enough where you learn, but not overkill like those elite northeast schools where everyone wants to slash each others' throats for an A while studying 10 hours a day. Maybe pre-med's the exception with a few psychos here and there lol, but even then most of them are super chill. This campus is probably the complete 180 opposite of cutthroat. Everyone's just here to have fun and get a good education. As for Greek Life, it's honestly pretty cut and dry. You either know you wanna party and have fun here, or you have other interests that aren't social (which is totally fine too!). Joining a frat was a great decision for me, since it got me out of my shell, but it's definitely not for everyone. As a middle-class kid, it was definitely a culture shock to see some guys drop $1,000's a week on tables here like it's pocket change, trying to "one-up" each other. I ultimately made a lot of quality friends but it'll vary for each kid. If you're set on Greek Life and you're cool (as in not socially weird), it's not impossible to get bids from mid-tiers, which can be a ton of fun. Just my 2 cents. Congrats on getting off the waitlist btw!
