many that are cut out is due to their own stubborn thoughts to only pledge a particular group or two. When that doesn't happen, they drop out and in that process, lose out. I can't say that no one gets cut out entirely even when they are willing to accept a bid to any group, but it can go a lot better when a girl comes into rush with an open mind. Let's face it, some think that if they drop out, they have a good chance of pledging who they want in open rush. Most sororities do not have any positions left after rush so that is a false sense of hope. If you honestly do not want to pledge a group other than what you have decided you wanted and they do not want you...there are plenty of organizations to join on campus. Lots of people are not in the Greek system and they do fine. However, if you do want to pledge something, come with an open mind and hopefully you'll find a group you like and who wants you.
