This is a good question to ask I had my hardest moment when I got my chapters for pref - I lost the house I was IN LOVE WITH and had two left that I liked fine but I had convinced myself I was perfect in this other sorority. Even after talking with my Pi Chi I let the disappointment carry into my first pref party. I wasn't crying or anything, but I was obviously down and the sister was super sweet and how she handled that made me list them first. I didn't end up getting a bid there, probably because no house wants someone who is upset to be there/pining after another sorority. My second pref party went much better. I was fine on bid day (because I had gotten all of the emotions out the day before), and I'm very happy where I am now, but PNMs, please try your best to put disappointment aside when you go into a party because it will only hurt your chances in your remaining chapters. All of the chapters here will give you a great experience! Related- My roommate SIP (only listed one of her two pref chapters) convinced she would only fit in the one chapter, and she did not get a bid. She COB'd later into a chapter she didn't pref after getting to know more people and is enjoying it, but she admits she missed out on a great sorority and the fun of bid day by insisting she wouldn't fit into XYZ after pref.
