probably not the best source on this, but to answer your question: on bid day, if a sorority does not have a full pledge class at quota (set by UF), they can call back women who were released from recruitment and offer them a bid. So suppose you are released after round 3 and don't go on to pref, and XYZ has only 70 bids within the quota of 80, they can call you and 9 others the morning of, and you'd go to their bid day and become a new member.
