Dues and fees are to different things. So, dues cover different things in each chapter, but in general it covers socials, date functions, sisterhood and sometimes tshirts. Then there are fees: initiation fees your first semester, housing fees that all or some sisters pay, etc. Then there's meal plans (food) and housing (leases). So, some chapters have cheaper rents, feea, or dues compared within categories. However, it's hard to compare overall, as no one shares what they pay very publicly. I also agree that this all needs to be published during Rec. A lot of women receive bids, and are blindsided by costs and have to drop. If we just told them exact numbers, say round 2, it's a lot less stressful for them when it comes back up in pledging. Also, I know DDD is actually relatively inexpensive to live in, but idk if it includes food or what dues run.
