I agree with the poster above. Spring recruitment is great, don't let anyone make you feel stigmatized about it. It is a whole different animal, much less formal/structured than fall recruitment, but there are also far, far fewer spots available, so many of those spots go to people who already have friends in the chapters that are participating. Give it a try but do not be discouraged if spring doesn't work out, because it's just a very different system and isn't designed to place everyone who is interested (unlike fall recruitment which, while kind of crazy and overwhelming, is designed to place the vast, vast majority of people who participate). Also, spring new members get almost everything else the same as a fall, except your new member class is a little smaller (could be a benefit!). You still get a big sister, a full initiation ceremony, etc.
