It is not really mutual selection. Sororities decide who they are inviting back and pnm's ranks are not considered in their decision process, the sororities don't even see them. Pnm's ranks don't come into play unless you would receive more invitations back than a round allows, only then would your low ranked ones drop off your schedule. Otherwise your low ranked ones keep coming back to give you as many options as possible. Pnm's don't drop chapters, they only rank them, the sororities are doing the choosing. It is not common for a pnm to get back a full schedule for any round. It is correct that schedules are based on logistics only.
