last year during recruitment, I was a sophmore who got dropped by all but 5 houses after round 1, and I was devastated. I cried to my pi chi about it, not because I hated any of the houses on my list, but more disappointed that I got so few back, including 1 that I wanted dropped from my schedule. I ended up loving that house after meeting them, and two of the houses I had liked more prior to that round, I ended up not liking as a fit for me after that round. Going into round 3, I only had 3 sororities to visit, but at that point, all of them were places that I was happy to call home. After that round, I had two clear front runners, and got them both for pref. As the rounds went on, even though I started with only a few choices, as I got to the end of the process, I had to eliminate some where I could have been happy. Ultimately, that house that I had disliked after Round 1 became my home, and ultimately, I don't think I could be happier anywhere else, and I daresay I would be unhappy in one of the "top" sororities, due to all of the pressure of having such a reputation to uphold. Ultimately, what I'm trying to say is, don't focus on ranks, focus on what feels right and like home. Be honest with yourself and be your most authentic self, the sisterhood that you will call home will make that easy. Don't base anything off of GreekRank or TikTok or other PNMs, just do what makes you happy.
