Sorry for negative experiences and I know it can be hurtful not to be chosen as a legacy. Part of why they changed the rules. I was a triple legacy to a sorority at another school when legacies counted. But I was not the right fit for the house at that campus I went through recruitment at the time. I would never say the hurtful items you have about any house out of respect that not all girl's in every house are mean or would have even voted on me in early rounds. Statistically this would not be the case. My 2nd campus I would have gladly pledged where I was a triple legacy but I was already in a sorority. Each house at different times is different even at the same campus. Just be happy you understood up front the chapter was not the correct fit and they did not lead you on to round 3 before dropping you. I was also a legacy to another sorority and I liked it. But in the end I selected a sorority where I felt wanted for me not due to being a legacy. I hope you had the same experience. No need to hold onto so much hate. My grandmother and mother never got over the fact my sister nor I chose their sorority as we would have been the 4th generation. But we each found the right fit. Today I am a medical doctor as I was inspired from taking care of my family member forcing me to transfer schools. I never took a light load and graduated early. There is no reason to be hateful towards any sorority. Everyone has different experiences and no expectation anymore for any legacy. I also would never say anything negative about the sorority three generations of family member chose. As I was raised with class as I sit on bed rest before I deliver my baby girl. I hope she will select the right fit for her, and my niece will find her fit at UF this Fall. Every sorority has pre-med. pre-law, engineering etc. Again, with so many girls each sorority will have a little of everything. I wish you all peace and happiness!
