Not sure if others had the experience to transfer or maybe went to a school with all nice girls. I did have to transfer to take care of a family member and I did have friends across many houses. I found the chapter of my sorority where I did end up affiliated with to be a little hostile towards transfers. The whole chapter had to vote on me joining at the 2ns school per their National policy. I consider myself lucky but never had issues with making friends regardless. To this day my chapter at my first school is the one inviting me to tons of items. Again you need to be prepared as the house I affiliated with were not kind to girls they thought transferred to be in a higher tier, My transfer was a lateral transfer so they were ok to me. Again each person's experience will vary but I did see how the chapter treated some girls from X school and it was sad. I did not bond with incoming freshmen as they had their pledge retreats and lived in the same dorms etc. I even took a little Sis. I bonded with other transfers or members from my hometown. Also 2nd years typically live in the house and this is a bond. I lived in the house of my sorority during summer but still did not bond as I had with my first school chapter. I can say I would NOT have pledged the same chapter at my 2nd school again a different vibe. But again once your in a sorority you cannot switch. I just got involved in Panhellenic items going on and other clubs(any large school offers). I enjoyed the break of eating at my affiliated chapter but not truly close with any of the girls to this day beyond a few that transferred like me or hometown girls. This is just one experience yours may be different. It is like middle school- I recall it but it did not leave a lasting impression.
