Subject:
Thoughts for fall recruitment/rush

Poster Message:
it's easy to come on here before coming in the fall and read the "rankings" before srat recruitment/frat rush and be like "I wanna be in abc srat/frat because they are ranked in the xyz tier." just so you all know, everyone knows or is somehow connected to everyone else in greek life, and how people feel about certain frats or sororities and their social "ranking" or "tier" is usually based on their own personal experiences with that house. of course there are some opinions that are more popular than others, and some frats are more associated with certain sororities sometimes, but don't let that stop you from finding your REAL home during recruitment. no one will judge you right away based solely on your greek house (or at least no one that should matter to you), and you will definitely make friends in other frats/sororities too during your time at UF, so find the home that you ACTUALLY feel the best in! Each chapter has its own culture/vibe and you are ultimately looking for where you fit in the best. It’s more important to find a sense of belonging in your chapter instead of just feeling cool because of the letters. everyone parties, goes out, and meets guys/girls no matter what "tier" the sorority/fraternity is! plus people have friends everywhere, so being yourself and finding your people you will truly love spending the next 4 years with (not to mention lifetime friendships) will make greek life so much more enjoyable in the long run!
