phi mu and kappa are honestly pretty similar and pull from the same group of girls ! if you care about rank, kappa ranks slightly higher. some ppl think they are top of bottom tier but most would say they’re lower mid. phi mu is probably the strongest bottom tier sorority. both have genuine sisterhoods that aren’t based on looks and who you know. both are pretty involved on campus, but phi mu is slightly more involved. i suppose technically kappa has slightly prettier girls but i think phi mu has gotten cuter/trendier over the years! kappa honestly is super lowkey and tend to keep to themselves. phi mu is louder and more competitive imo lol. cons of phi mu — they are kind of obsessed with other sororities’ drama and frat relations?? running theme i’ve noticed with them and my friends agree. ofc everyone likes to gossip and learning tea about other sororities can be interesting but phi mu’s are always so nosy and ALWAYS seem to know what’s going on at other houses? like how do you know the frats courting my sorority before i did 🤣they also haven’t quite shaken their phi moo rep so top and clout chasing mid tier frats still make fun of them. but i do love all the phi mu’s in my classes and orgs/clubs sooo cons of kappa - they are just so… forgettable i’m sorry. like when you think of mid tier sororities you usually forget them. it also doesn’t help that they’re not on row. most kappas ik tend to be introverted girls.
