The info above isn't accurate. Whether or not a house made "quota" has nothing to do with spring recruitment. Panhel sets an average chapter size at the beginning of each semester. Any house below this average chapter size will get to recruit. This includes chapters who did or did not reach quota in the fall (all but 1 did). Keep in mind that members leave, graduate or are resigned throughout the year. This potentially opens spaces for membership as well. That being said, the above poster is correct that not all houses will be available and it gets quite competitive. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't check out houses who are recruiting. Just because you visit a house, doesn't mean that you have to accept a bid if one is offered. You could check out a couple places and then decide to rush in the fall. There's no obligation or expectation if you participate. I say go for it!
