Your daughter wasn't forced to drop out. She had 3 great houses that invited her to attend the preference ceremony, which is very meaningful at every chapter here. But she, and clearly you, thought she was too good for those houses. Many girls would have killed to have even one of those houses in their preference round- many girls were dropped from recruitment and didn't even make it to preference round.
