My daughter was forced to drop out of recruitment because she was led on by her legacy houses. You see, Greek life is a big part of our family's life and she and we all wanted her to become a part of it. She graduated in the top of her class, is an extremely pretty, kind, and well rounded girl, was a team captain, class officer, on prom court, and got a high gpa in her first semester studying biomedical engineering. She always had a full invite list and we thought she should be a shoo-in for a top tier house. 2nd to last round she had 3 tops, 3 mids, and 1 bottom house so we expected at least one of the top tiers to invite her to pref. Keep in mind, my mother and I were both Kappa Alpha Thetas and her 2 sisters are in Pi Beta Phi chapters in Ohio where they are regarded as a sought-after house. So she was a double legacy to two of the strongest chapters at OSU and got so far with them during recruitment. So it was quite a disappointment to us all to see the houses she could pref at were Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, and Alpha Xi Delta. We were absolutely devastated. A top tier girl deserves a top tier house. She still wants to be a part of the Greek system in theta or pi phi so how can we get her in? Or at least a chapter with the same local and national prestige? I am honestly quite disappointed in my alumni chapters behavior toward her and I know her pi phi sisters feel the same.
