I've been here for several years, and no other fraternity (besides Sig Ep & Phi Psi) has consistently been on and off probation as much as BTP. Last year they went through a reorganization because a pledge broke his arm, and from a national standpoint a reorg is there because they think the problem is fixable but they still have a lot of doubts about the membership & culture. For many chapters that have been reorg'd or reviewed the next year they are kicked off campus because the problem isn't fixed. This is likely the problem with Beta, to no ones surprise. I don't know what they did to be put on emergency suspension, but it's never a good sign from a national POV when a reorg'd chapter is on suspension a year post reorg. At this point I would be surprised if Beta isn't suspended, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the school/nationals ignores it in the hopes of unforeseen improvements. The Greek system isn't going down the drain, the fraternities that follow the rules and have good risk management will be around for years to come. The days of the uncontrolled fraternity are limited, and you have seen the school start to bring the hammer down.
